A second generation teen mom struggles to prove she can do things differently than her own mother did

I almost didn't know how to type the title we didnt' have a J name this week..they changed the time..its on at 9 now..as usual I will catch the re run and discuss it

I saw a portion of the show. I'll watch it all later as I recorded.

I felt for the girl in the end. She really had no idea what the father was really like until she had to start raising a baby with him. I hope she's okay. She seemed a little depressed IMO.

Did she intend to get pregnant? I missed the beginning. From the comments she was making at the end, it was difficult to tell.

I just wish all these 'young' ladies would stop naming their male babies after the baby's father …. seems to be so many of them that end of wishing they had not. And I have no clue how a b.c. works when they are not married? Can the Mom just give the babe her last name and then only put her name on the b.c. … ?

I just wish all these 'young' ladies would stop naming their male babies after the baby's father …. seems to be so many of them that end of wishing they had not. And I have no clue how a b.c. works when they are not married? Can the Mom just give the babe her last name and then only put her name on the b.c. … ?

From my understanding, unless you are married, you can only put the dad's name on the birthcertificate if the dad is there at the hospital to approve it. If he's not there, they won't do it, if you are not married, unless prior arrangements have been made.

If dad is present and mom doesn't want the name on the birth certificate, dad can't force it. He would have to file a Petition for Paternity with the courts after the birth.

I watched last night and found it so sad. This girl's mother seemed to have learned so much from her own experience. She tried so hard for her own daughter to avoid this happening to her. I really feel for her. She's one of the most level headed, reasonable, grandmothers I have seen on these shows. I really liked her. Her daughter was VERY immature to hook up with a highschool dropout and think his job was going to really support them. OMG. So sad.

Before the baby was born, the teen mom told her boyfriend that what she liked the most about him was his "I don't care" attitude. OMG. After the baby was born, that same attitude drove her away.

You are right, Debb, they were at a playground on swings when they were talking about how they first met and how she liked him so much with that "I don't care" attitude…..and look how all that played out.
